EuroHockey and Sportway Media Group have entered into a five‑year partnership aimed at revolutionising live hockey streaming across Europe, with the goal of making every match accessible to fans starting with the 2027 season.
Under the agreement, Sportway will supply automated sports broadcasting technology and a suite of digital services that will be integrated into EuroHockey’s extensive event portfolio, enabling clubs and federations to stream matches without shouldering the usual operational expenses.
The collaboration gives rise to EuroHockeyTV, a dedicated streaming platform that will deliver both live and on‑demand coverage of matches, supported by integrated payment solutions and data management through AltiusRT.
By leveraging Sportway’s OTT infrastructure and AI‑driven production tools, the partnership will expand coverage beyond the traditional eight to twelve annual events, incorporating new automated camera systems for venues and scaling the service without imposing cost burdens on the participating clubs.
Strategic Vision for European Hockey
Angus Kirkland, EuroHockey’s Director General, said the partnership aligns with the organisation’s ambition to make every hockey match accessible to fans throughout the continent.
Daniel Franck, chief executive of Sportway, highlighted the company’s international OTT expertise and the role of artificial intelligence in supporting European hockey communities, noting that the technology will streamline production and broaden reach.
The rollout is scheduled to begin before the 2027 season, with a phased implementation that will see new streaming services and venue installations introduced progressively throughout the partnership term.
Overall, the initiative promises to raise the profile of hockey across Europe, attracting new audiences and nurturing greater engagement among athletes and supporters alike.
