A Season of Service
Evan Blanco, a senior right‑hander for the Tennessee Volunteers, has been selected for the 2026 SEC Baseball Community Service Team, a recognition that highlights both athletic excellence and civic engagement. The honor comes as Blanco prepares to graduate with a bachelor's degree in information sciences, capping a collegiate career that began at Virginia before he transferred to Tennessee.
Beyond the mound, Blanco has logged more than 25 hours of community service this season, including a recent visit to Dolly Parton Children's Hospital where he spent time with young patients. He also took part in the Read Across America program, bringing books and reading sessions to local elementary schools, an effort that aligns with his longstanding commitment to youth outreach.
His involvement with A Shot For Life, a nonprofit dedicated to children's cancer research, further illustrates his dedication to making a tangible difference. The organization, which he supported prior to arriving in Knoxville, reflects a personal connection to the cause that continues to shape his off‑field pursuits.
