A Long Road Back
Evan Stewart, a former Texas A&M wide receiver, has not taken the field in over 20 months. A torn patellar tendon sustained in early 2024 kept him sidelined through the entirety of the 2025 campaign, but the injury has not dulled his edge.
A 2024 Season to Remember
During his junior year with the Oregon Ducks, Stewart logged 48 receptions for 613 yards and five touchdowns, ranking him third among the team’s pass catchers. The performance helped the Ducks secure the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff, and a pivotal matchup against Ohio State saw him catch seven passes for 149 yards and a touchdown.
Now preparing for the 2026 season, Stewart is slated to face top Big Ten defenders in practice, including Rutgers’ KJ Duff and Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, as he works to shake off the rust of his lengthy layoff.
Perich’s High Praise
Safety Koi Perich, a top‑ranked prospect who previously played at Minnesota before joining Oregon, has publicly praised Stewart, calling him one of the best receivers in college football and comparing his skill set to that of Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith.
Across three seasons at Texas A&M, Stewart accumulated 139 catches for 1,776 yards and 11 touchdowns, a body of work that has analysts projecting him as a potential breakout star in the upcoming college football landscape.
