A Fresh Face in Huskies Coaching
Evie Wolshire has been appointed assistant women’s basketball coach at Michigan Tech University, bringing a blend of playing experience and administrative know‑how to the Huskies program.
During her two‑year tenure as a graduate assistant at Southern Illinois University‑Edwardsville, she managed practice planning, student‑athlete development and game preparation, while also spearheading recruiting efforts across the Midwest.
Wolshire’s collegiate playing career unfolded at Wittenberg University, where she captained the Tigers, helped secure two conference titles and a tournament championship, and still holds the single‑game assist record with 11.
Expressing excitement about the new role, she said she looks forward to continuing her partnership with Coach Eric Gruber and contributing to the growth of the Michigan Tech women’s basketball family.
A lifelong resident of Lancaster, Ohio, Wolshire earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Wittenberg before pursuing graduate studies, a foundation that informs her coaching philosophy and community‑focused approach.
Her professional journey also includes an internship with the Wittenberg Athletic Department, where she handled scheduling and community relations, further sharpening her organizational skills.
