A Texas‑Based Faith Film
Dean Cain takes on the role of Reece Meador, while Jonathan Lucroy embodies Cody Holt, the two men who founded the Waco baseball camp that serves as the film’s foundation. The project, titled "Dinger Disciples," is a faith‑driven retelling that fuses the excitement of the game with biblical themes, chronicling the lives of the camp’s creators.
Production kicked off in early July, coinciding with the camp’s annual session. While much of the shooting takes place on the dusty fields of Waco, the crew also moved to Dallas and Bridgeport, West Virginia, to capture additional scenes. The cast includes a cameo by former home‑run king Aubrey Huff, adding a touch of baseball nostalgia.
Behind the Lens
The picture is being directed by Jason Campbell, president of JCFilms Studios, who has described the narrative as a meditation on fathers, sons, mentors and the hope found in Christ. Campbell will also see the film through the lens of his studio, which is handling production and distribution.
