A new faith‑based movie titled “Dinger Disciples” is currently in production across Texas, featuring actors Dean Cain and Jonathan Lucroy in leading roles. The project, which intertwines baseball with Christian storytelling, marks a fresh attempt to bring biblical themes to the sports genre.
From Camp to Camera
The film’s narrative roots lie in a real‑world baseball camp founded by Reece Meador and Cody Holt in Waco. That camp used the rhythm of the game to teach young athletes about Scripture, teamwork and personal growth. Filmmakers have captured the energy of that environment, shooting scenes during the camp’s early July sessions.
Production will continue in Dallas and Bridgeport, West Virginia, though a concrete release schedule has yet to be disclosed. The decision to film in multiple states reflects the story’s ambition to portray a nationwide movement that uses sport as a conduit for spiritual mentorship.
JCFilms Studios president Jason Campbell, who is also the film’s director, described the movie as a meditation on fathers and sons, mentors and coaches, second chances and the hope found in Christ. His vision extends beyond entertainment, aiming to spark conversations about faith in everyday competition.
