A Summer of Transformation
Father McGivney Catholic High School in Missouri is putting the finishing touches on a series of facility upgrades that will greet students and athletes when classes resume this fall. The projects, funded entirely by private donations from the school community, reflect a strategic effort to enhance both athletic experiences and academic offerings.
At the varsity baseball field, new grandstands have been installed, expanding seating to 254 spectators for the upcoming 2026 spring season. Alongside the grandstands, a two‑story press box now houses broadcasting equipment from Pixellot cameras, allowing announcements and NFHS Network coverage to be produced from an elevated, dedicated space. Permanent restrooms are also being added, replacing the portable units that have served the field until now.
The soccer and track complex will see a major visual and functional upgrade with new bleachers that can accommodate up to 900 fans. The bleacher structure includes a 40‑foot enclosed press box, providing a modern workspace for media and event staff. These improvements are designed to support the school’s growing participation in soccer and track, as well as to serve feeder Catholic schools for practices and spring meets.
In addition to athletic enhancements, the school is adding a new science laboratory to meet the demands of an expanding academic program. The lab will equip students with contemporary resources for hands‑on learning and is part of a broader effort to align the school’s facilities with its rising enrollment numbers.
All construction is scheduled for completion by the end of August, just in time for the new school year. Funding for the upgrades comes from a combination of community contributions, underscoring the strong support the school enjoys from parents, alumni, and local supporters.
Principal Joe Lombardi highlighted the significance of the improvements, noting that the new facilities will not only elevate game‑day operations but also improve fan comfort and safety. He specifically referenced the recent state championships earned by the girls track and field team in 2024 and the girls soccer team in 2025 as evidence of the school’s growing athletic prominence, and he expressed gratitude to donors for making the upgrades possible.
