Favour Ossai, a 6‑2 forward from Delta State, Nigeria, will suit up for NC State’s women’s basketball team in the 2026‑27 season, the program announced this week.
Her three‑year run at Fukushima Toryo High School in Japan saw her dominate the scoreboard, averaging nearly 27 points and 12 rebounds per game, and she capped the experience with a decisive performance in the Winter Cup, where she helped her side claim its first ever tournament victory.
Ossai’s résumé also includes a stint with Nigeria’s youth national teams, a appearance at the 2022 International School Sports Federation Championship, and a record‑setting game in which she poured in 38 points against Yuzawa Shohku High School.
She arrives on campus at the start of the fall semester, joining a Wolfpack squad that already features fellow international player Khady Leye of Senegal, and under the guidance of head coach Wes Moore, who has a track record of integrating global talent.
Coach Moore, who has previously coached teams stacked with international players, expressed excitement about adding Ossai’s size, skill set, and work ethic to the roster, noting that the newcomer’s arrival signals a continued emphasis on recruiting worldwide talent.
