Academic Excellence Meets Athletic Commitment
The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) has released its Krampade All‑American Scholar list for the 2025‑26 season, honoring 13 members of the Ferris State University men’s hockey program for excelling both in the classroom and on the ice.
Eligibility requires a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.75 across both semesters and participation in no fewer than 40 percent of the team’s games. Injured athletes and backup goalies may receive exceptions, ensuring that those who contribute in limited capacities are not overlooked.
Among the honorees are Nic Belpedio, Gavin Best, Holden Doell, Hobie Hedquist, Logan Heroux, Christopher Lie, Martin Lundberg, Carter Rapalje, Noah Rupprecht, Tyler Schleppe, Jack Silich, Mason West and Josh Zary. Each of these Bulldogs balanced demanding academic loads with rigorous training schedules and competitive play.
The scholar cohort extends far beyond Ferris State. In total, 723 Division I athletes — 404 men and 319 women — earned the distinction, reflecting a broader institutional push toward integrating scholarship with sport.
The AHCA also recognized 11 players who met the academic threshold and were voted CCM/AHCA All‑Americans for their on‑ice performance. This group includes Trey Augustine, Brandon Holt, Michael Hrabal, Eric Pohlkamp, Tia Chan, Lacey Eden, Tessa Janecke, Emma Peschel, Joy Dunn, Eve Gascon, Kahlen Lamarche and Sydney Morrow.
University officials praised the combined achievement, noting that the recognition underscores Ferris State’s commitment to developing well‑rounded competitors who thrive academically while representing their program at the highest level of collegiate hockey.
