FGCU Women’s Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule with Ambitious Non‑Conference Slate

Five‑game September homestand and marquee matchups against UCF, LSU and in‑state rivals set the stage for another ASUN title run

Florida Gulf Coast University’s women’s soccer program unveiled its 2026 schedule on Wednesday, promising a demanding non‑conference slate that blends home‑field advantage with road tests against some of the nation’s top competition.

A schedule built for challenge

The centerpiece is a five‑game homestand in September, during which the Eagles will host Houston, FIU and FAU, each making their first visit to Pickering Field since 2022, while also welcoming UCF, LSU and Georgia Southern to Fort Myers.

Head coach Jim Blankenship said the schedule was designed to sharpen the team for another ASUN championship run, noting the value of early exposure to power‑conference opponents such as LSU and UCF.

Returning standouts including Ryanne Robinson, Madara Matrevica, and captains Kate Friday, Lily Borders and Hanna Phillips give the squad depth and experience, while the coaching staff expressed confidence that the new additions will translate into immediate impact.

The season opens with an exhibition against Miami‑Date on August 6, followed by a regular‑season debut at UCF on August 8. After a brief road swing that includes stops at Georgia Southern, Southern and LSU, the Eagles will host FIU on August 30 before welcoming FAU on September 6, setting up a early in‑state showdown that could define the campaign.

ASUN play begins in September with matches against Queens and West Florida, and the conference schedule will continue through October, culminating in a home finale against Stetson on October 31. The ASUN Women’s Soccer Championship is slated for early November, after which FGCU hopes to secure its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance.
