When the 2028 Summer Olympics open in Los Angeles, field hockey will make its long‑awaited return to the Olympic program, and the competition will be staged at a familiar Southern California hub.
A Venue Reimagined
Carson Field, currently the training ground for the LA Galaxy, will be transformed into a dedicated field hockey arena within the Dignity Health Sports Park complex. The primary pitch will accommodate up to 15,000 spectators, while a secondary field will hold 5,000 fans for ancillary events, including para archery during the Paralympics.
Enhancements are already underway to meet Olympic standards, with upgrades to lighting, seating and broadcast infrastructure. The venue’s integration into the broader sports park ensures that it will serve both the Olympic and Paralympic schedules without compromising existing facilities.
Ticket Access and Draw
Fans interested in attending the field hockey matches can register for the LA28 ticket draw at Tickets.LA28.org. Registration remains open until July 22, 2026, after which a lottery will determine allocation of the limited seats. The next ticket drop is scheduled for August 10‑20, 2026, providing a second opportunity for those who miss the initial draw.
Getting There
Carson Field lies 12.6 miles from Los Angeles International Airport, 12.2 miles from the LA Memorial Coliseum and 25 miles from the Athletes Village at UCLA. The site is well‑served by public transportation, with access via the Metro A Line and Metro J Line, as well as a network of local bus routes that connect the venue to surrounding neighborhoods.
