Fiesta Sports Foundation Brings Free Youth Football Clinic to Arizona Communities

NFL alumni and local coaches mentor nearly 100 young athletes at Scottsdale Community College

The 2026 Fiesta Sports Foundation Legacy Youth Football Clinic gathered nearly one hundred children from the Salt River Pima‑Maricopa Indian Community for a day of skill development and play.

A Tradition of Mentorship

Held on the campus of Scottsdale Community College, the free, non‑contact clinic emphasized fundamental drills, agility challenges and teamwork, allowing participants to learn the game in a safe environment.

Special guest coach Sammy Moore, a former Washington State wide receiver and member of the Gila River Indian Community, guided the youngsters through exercises that blended technique with enthusiasm.

Members of the San Carlos High School football team joined the instruction, helping to translate the expertise of past guest coaches — including NFL and major‑college alumni — into hands‑on teaching moments.

The clinic’s legacy stretches back to a series of high‑profile mentors such as former Arizona State and NFL kicker Luis Zendejas, eight‑year NFL quarterback Brett Hundley, Arizona Cardinals linebacker Jesse Luketa, and current players Spencer Rattler and Jack Plummer, who have all contributed to its reputation.

Beyond the drills, the event underscores the foundation’s commitment to community outreach, offering youth from underserved regions a chance to connect with role models and experience the structure of organized sport.
