The highly anticipated 2026‑27 FIH Hockey Pro League is set to kick off on 8 December 2026 in Argentina, marking the start of a season that will see 144 matches unfold across 14 distinct stages.
The competition, branded as the "League of the Best", will bring together the world’s leading national teams in a campaign that stretches from South America to Europe, Asia, Oceania and beyond, offering fans a packed schedule of high‑stakes hockey.
Return of Traditional Powerhouses
Two of the sport’s most celebrated sides, the Indian women’s team and the French men’s squad, are making their comeback after earning promotion from the FIH Hockey Nations Cup, adding fresh narrative layers to the league’s storyline.
Opening fixtures in Argentina will pit the host nations — Las Leonas and Los Leones — against China’s women’s side and France’s men, respectively, setting the tone for a tournament that promises drama from the first whistle.
The league’s calendar is designed to showcase a global tour, with matches scheduled in Argentina, Spain, India, Australia, Belgium and Germany through to June 2027, ensuring that audiences across continents can experience the action live.
FIH President Tayyab Ikram has emphasized that the return of top athletes, the involvement of National Associations and the enthusiasm of fans are the three pillars that will drive the league’s success in this new cycle.
Beyond the sporting spectacle, the Pro League is positioned as a catalyst for growing the sport’s profile, fostering new rivalries and delivering unforgettable moments that will resonate throughout the 2026‑27 season.
