A revived weekend of speed
After a successful inaugural doubleheader in 2026, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg has been secured for a return in 2027. The event will take place on the 1.8‑mile, 14‑turn downtown street circuit from March 5 through March 7, offering fans a rare chance to see two major series share the same weekend.
The 2026 running proved to be a magnet for spectators, drawing strong attendance across all three days and delivering non‑stop drama in both the IndyCar and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Reigning four‑time IndyCar champion Alex Palou captured the IndyCar victory, while Layne Riggs claimed the historic Truck Series win on Saturday, March 6.
Green Savoree Racing Promotions, the event’s promoter, highlighted the 2026 weekend as their best yet, citing tremendous spectator turnout and the electric atmosphere that blanketed the city. The positive reception has set the stage for an even larger production in 2027.
Ticket sales for the 2027 Grand Prix will open this fall, giving fans ample time to plan for what promises to be another landmark weekend of motorsport in St. Petersburg.
