Recognition on the Field and in the Classroom
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, honoring student-athletes who excel both on the diamond and in the classroom. To qualify, each player maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5, demonstrating a commitment to academic achievement alongside athletic performance.
From North Dakota State University, five Bison pitchers earned this distinction, reflecting the program’s emphasis on developing well‑rounded leaders. Their selection underscores the competitive balance the Bison maintain between high‑level play and scholarly rigor.
Names and Achievements
The honorees are Brayden Marks, Colten Becker, Parker Puetz, Dante Smith, and Diego Trujillo. Each of them posted a 3.5 GPA or higher, meeting the stringent academic threshold set by the CSC. Their on‑field contributions, combined with their scholarly performance, placed them among the top student‑athletes recognized across the district.
Being named to the Academic All-District Team unlocks a next step in the CSC’s Academic All‑America® pathway. These five Bison will now be placed on the ballot for potential inclusion on the national Academic All‑America® teams, which are announced each June.

The CSC plans to reveal first‑, second‑, and third‑team Academic All‑America® honorees on June 23. Those selected will join an elite group of student‑athletes celebrated for their dual excellence, further elevating the profile of North Dakota State’s baseball program on a national stage.
