The latest College Sports Communicators Academic All-District baseball selections have placed five members of the Hartford Hawks roster among the region’s most distinguished student-athletes, honoring those who excel both on the field and in the classroom.
Each honoree met the organization’s stringent criteria, which combine a minimum GPA with measurable athletic performance, illustrating the balance the program seeks to reward.
Joe Dooley, a senior right-hander, concluded his collegiate career with a 4-2 record and 45.2 innings pitched, demonstrating durability and control that helped anchor the pitching staff.
Shortstop JJ Romatzick proved his versatility by starting 34 games and appearing in 36 contests during his junior season, contributing consistently both defensively and at the plate.
Junior Anthony Bubba posted a 3.42 earned-run average over 68.1 innings, a breakout performance that solidified his role in the rotation and highlighted his growth from the previous year.
Outfielder Jackson Ciccone compiled a .359/.427/.508 slash line with two homers, nine doubles, two triples, 28 RBIs and 27 runs scored, showcasing a blend of contact and power that complemented his academic profile.
Senior Jeremy Mangiameli finished his final campaign with a .357/.449/.548 slash line, adding four home runs, 10 doubles, 33 RBIs and 32 runs scored, underscoring his all-around offensive contributions.
The recognition reflects not only individual excellence but also the collaborative effort of the programs, the Conference of New England, the America Baseball Coaches Association and the publishing platform D3Baseball.com, which together shape the annual All-District teams.
