The 2027 Shriners Children's East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 List has been released, spotlighting five standout players from North Carolina who have earned recognition as among the nation's most promising NFL Draft prospects. The annual list serves as a preview of college talent heading into the 2027 draft cycle, offering participants NFL-level resources and coaching.
A Prestigious Platform for Future NFL Talent
Kaleb Cost, a defensive back who appeared in 11 games last season and logged 45 tackles, two tackles for loss, five pass breakups and an interception, joins the prestigious roster. His performance underscores a strong secondary presence that caught the attention of scouts.
Defensive lineman Melkart Abou Jaoude earned Second Team All-ACC honors and led the conference with 10.5 sacks, showcasing disruptive pass‑rushing ability. He is complemented by Donovan Hoilette Jr., a First Team All-Patriot League honoree who recorded 48 tackles and 13 tackles for loss in 2025, highlighting his versatility along the line.
Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., who missed much of the previous season due to injury but still threw for 2,881 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024, and wide receiver Mason Humphrey, who gathered 35 receptions for 650 yards and four touchdowns while playing at Lehigh, round out the North Carolina contingent. Both players bring additional offensive firepower to the showcase.
