Saint Joseph's College announced that five of its baseball standouts — Ryan Kastle, Vinny O'Leary, William Dionne, Paul Donnelly and Nick Villano — have been selected to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. The honor celebrates student‑athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.
The Monks concluded the campaign with a 34‑13 overall record and a 14‑6 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, the most wins the program has recorded since the 2012 squad posted 39 victories.
A Playoff Run to Remember
In the GNAC Tournament the team opened with a 12‑2 victory over Norwich, dropped a game to Lasell, then rallied to win three straight elimination contests, ultimately capturing the Pod B championship with a 4‑1 postseason slate.
Their 34 victories also marked the highest win total for the program in more than a decade, underscoring the impact of a cohesive roster that blended on‑field talent with strong leadership.
To be considered for the CSC Academic All-District team, each student‑athlete must have participated in at least 90 % of his team’s contests or started a minimum of 66 % of games while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, a standard that all five Monks met.
The CSC will announce first, second and third‑team Academic All‑America honorees on June 23, 2026, and those selections will advance to a national ballot among CSC members.
While the Division II and III Academic All‑America programs receive partial financial support from the NCAA’s Division II and III governance structures, the recognition highlights the college’s commitment to developing scholar‑athletes.
