Monshun Sales, a five-star wide receiver from Lawrence North High School, announced his commitment to Indiana University on Wednesday, becoming the first player of his caliber to pledge to the Hoosiers.
The Decision That Stood Out
Sales chose Indiana over traditional powerhouses Alabama, Ohio State and Texas after a series of official visits that began with a weekend in Bloomington, where the coaching staff first laid out a vision for his development.
A Record-Setting Junior Season
During his junior year he helped Lawrence North to a 7-3 record, catching 37 passes for 794 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 21.5 yards per reception on an offense that scored 43.8 points per game.
A Class in the Making
His pledge adds to a 2027 recruiting class that already includes 17 commitments, among them the state's top two receiver prospects, Sales and Branden Sharpe, as well as safety Dasan McCullough, who had previously been the program's highest-rated recruit.
Coaching Perspective
Head coach Curt Cignetti praised Sales's athleticism and work ethic, noting that the receiver's size and speed fit perfectly into the Hoosiers' evolving offensive scheme.
