The College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday, June 2, that five members of the University of South Carolina baseball roster have been selected for the 2025‑26 Academic All‑District team.
Josh Gregoire, Parker Marlatt, Amp Phillips, Logan Prisco and Alex Valentin earned the distinction after meeting the organization’s stringent academic and athletic benchmarks.
Marlatt Joins Elite Ranks
Parker Marlatt, a senior who previously earned the honor in the 2023‑24 cycle, becomes the only repeat recipient among the group, underscoring his sustained performance on the field and in the classroom.
Academic Excellence Meets Athletic Commitment
To qualify, student‑athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, compete in at least 90 percent of their institution’s games or start in 66 percent of those contests, and pitchers must log a minimum of 17 appearances or 25 innings.
Graduate students are held to an additional standard, required to achieve a 3.50 GPA in both their undergraduate and graduate coursework.
The University of South Carolina’s program caps the district list at five honorees per school, reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering well‑rounded leaders.
A Legacy of Scholar‑Athletes
Since the inception of the Academic All‑District program, the University of South Carolina has consistently placed its athletes among the nation’s top scholars, a testament to coordinated support services and faculty mentorship.
The latest cohort joins a distinguished list of former Gamecocks who have gone on to careers in professional baseball, coaching, and sports media, often citing their academic experiences as formative influences.
