Community Backlash Over Decibel Levels
The Brigade, billed as one of the largest NFL‑affiliated flag football leagues in the Phoenix Valley, had been using Cherokee Elementary in Paradise Valley for its season‑long practices and games.
Complaints from nearby residents about excessive noise, some reports citing levels as high as 90 decibels, prompted the league’s organizers to seek a new venue, ultimately settling on Pueblo Elementary within the Scottsdale Unified School District.
Broader Impact on Youth Sports
Marino Lee, the league’s founder, voiced disappointment that a small group of homeowners succeeded in moving the program that served roughly 920 children, noting that the league had become a vital community outlet for youth sports.
The relocation also drew attention from local figures such as Arizona State University head coach Kenny Dillingham, who attended a game at the new site, underscoring the league’s growing visibility beyond the playing field.
