The Flint Firebirds announced the signing of Cooper Williams, a Michigan-born forward, to a Standard Player Agreement, marking a strategic addition as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
Williams, who grew up in Pinckney, Michigan, expressed enthusiasm about returning to the Great Lakes region and contributing to a club that values homegrown talent.
His junior career includes stints with the NAHL’s Bismarck Bobcats and the USHL’s Lincoln Stars, where he posted 31 goals and 23 assists in 37 games for Bismarck and six goals with three assists in 22 games for Lincoln during the 2025‑26 campaign.
Prior to those leagues, he honed his skills with the Compuware and Honeybaked AAA programs in Metro Detroit, building a reputation for tenacity and offensive creativity.
Off the ice, Williams has committed to play NCAA hockey at Lake Superior State University, a decision that aligns with his academic and athletic goals.
