Summer Workouts Begin in Gainesville
The Florida Gators men's basketball program has opened its summer workout regimen with the entire 2025‑26 roster on the practice floor in Gainesville, marking the first collective on‑court session since the close of the previous season.
Coach Mike White confirmed that the team will keep four proven starters — Boogie Fland, Thomas Haugh, Rueben Chinyelu and Alex Condon — who helped shape the squad's recent performance.
Alongside the returning core, the Gators unveiled a fresh set of jersey numbers for the upcoming campaign, a detail that has already sparked conversation among fans.
Denzel Aberdeen, a transfer guard, is slated to don No. 1 provided his pending NCAA waiver is approved, while veteran A.J. Brown has announced a move to No. 3, the number he wore during his collegiate stint at Ohio University.
The roster also welcomes two freshmen, Jones Lay and Arturas Butajevas, while forward Domen Petrovic will continue his collegiate journey wearing No. 19, the same digit he sported for GGD Sencur last season.
Butajevas, who previously wore No. 11 while representing Lithuania at the FIBA U18 Eurobasket, will now sport No. 25 for the Gators, adding an international flair to the squad.
With the new numbers assigned and the roster in place, the Gators are poised to blend experience with fresh talent as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
