The University of Florida announced its 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule, a lineup that promises both continuity and fresh ambition after a season that ended sooner than many hoped.
A Season of Redemption
Last year the Gators captured the SEC regular‑season crown for the first time since 2014, finishing 27‑8 overall and 16‑2 in conference play, only to see their NCAA tournament run halted in the second round by Iowa.
Key contributors Thomas Haugh, Rueben Chinyelu and Alex Condon will return, bringing with them a collection of honors that includes Haugh’s All‑American nod, Chinyelu’s back‑to‑back Defensive Player of the Year awards in the SEC, and Condon’s third straight all‑conference selection.
Key Players Set to Lead the Charge
Preseason polls have already placed the team at the top, projecting a No. 1 ranking heading into the campaign.
Challenging Non‑Conference Slate
The season will open on Nov. 2 in Tampa against Miami, a game that sets the tone for a schedule peppered with marquee non‑conference matchups, including a November 10 showdown with Florida State and a December 1 clash with Duke.
SEC play kicks off on the road against Texas on Jan. 2, and the slate will wind down with a home finale against Kentucky on March 6, while the team also travels to Las Vegas for the Players Era tournament.
Additional non‑conference stops include an unofficial game at Georgia Tech in Orlando on Dec. 12 and a series of SEC road trips that will take the Gators through traditional powerhouses such as Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas and Nashville.
