The Paul Hornung Award, presented to the most versatile player in major college football, has released its watch list for the upcoming season, and two Florida Gators have earned spots on it.
Versatility Rewarded
Junior running back Jadan Baugh, who started every game last year, topped the Gators with 1,170 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, a performance that also placed him on the Maxwell Award preseason list and produced a 266‑yard effort in the season finale against Florida State, the second‑most single‑game total in program history.
Sophomore wide receiver Vernell Brown III made history as the first true freshman in school history to lead the team in receptions and receiving yards, recording 40 catches for 512 yards, while also handling punt and kick returns that yielded 261 return yards and earned him Freshman All‑SEC honors.
Kicker Patrick Durkin received recognition on the Lou Groza Award watch list after converting 25 field goals at an 89.3% success rate, ranking him second among returning FBS kickers.
Junior center Harrison Moore was named to the Rimington Trophy watch list, anchoring an offensive line that allowed only nine sacks throughout the season.
