The SEC’s preseason awards have already begun to shape expectations for the upcoming college football season, and Florida’s emerging talents are front and center.
Preseason All-SEC Honors
Jadan Baugh, a junior running back, earned a second-team All-SEC nod and also secured third-team honors as an all-purpose player, reflecting his dual threat on the ground and in the passing game. He rushed for 1,170 yards and eight touchdowns on 220 carries last year while adding 31 receptions for 185 yards and two scores.
Defensive end Jayden Woods, a true freshman in 2025, burst onto the scene with 3.5 sacks, 28 total tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery, earning third-team recognition as a return specialist and helping the Gators’ pass rush.
Wide receiver Vernell Brown III made his presence felt on special teams, compiling 261 return yards across 18 kick and punt attempts and joining a select group of freshmen who recorded at least five punt returns of 20 yards or more.
Team Predictions
Florida was slotted ninth in the SEC preseason rankings and also appeared ninth in the USA Today poll, while the Georgia Bulldogs were predicted to win the conference for the third consecutive year, setting the stage for a competitive battle.
Coach Jon Sumrall, who took over the program this year, inherits a roster brimming with youthful talent and will look to translate these preseason accolades into on-field success as the Gators aim to climb the standings.
