Florida State Chases Top Texas Wide Receiver Damarion Mays for 2028 Class

Four‑star prospect weighs multiple power‑conference offers as FSU eyes a campus visit

Florida State University is making a concerted effort to secure the commitment of Damarion Mays, a four‑star wide receiver who is already drawing attention from several of the nation’s elite programs.

The Competitive Landscape

Mays began his high school career at Life Oak Cliff in Dallas, where as a freshman he recorded 68 receptions for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 24.1 yards per catch. He later transferred to North Crowley in Fort Worth, posting 54 catches for 843 yards and 11 scores as a sophomore, with an average of 15.6 yards per reception.

Ranked No. 111 overall and No. 16 among wide receivers in the 247Sports composite, he is the twelfth‑best prospect in Texas and has gathered roughly 40 scholarship offers, including those from Georgia, Alabama, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Ole Miss.

The next step in FSU’s recruitment strategy is expected to be an official campus visit during the upcoming season, a move that could prove pivotal in his eventual decision.
