Florida State head coach Luke Loucks unveiled a series of staff changes that will shape the program heading into the 2026‑27 season, emphasizing continuity and fresh direction.
A New Coaching Landscape
Kyle Washington, who spent the past three years overseeing video and scouting for the Seminoles, will now serve as an assistant coach. Washington’s coaching résumé includes stints at Iona, where he directed player development, a year at Loyola Chicago focusing on development and scouting, and a 2023‑24 season at the University of Cincinnati.
Aiden Malone, a graduate assistant for two seasons at Florida State, has been promoted to director of basketball operations. Malone originally joined the team as a student manager in 2021 and has since taken on responsibilities ranging from scouting to day‑to‑day program logistics.
The reshuffle coincides with the departure of four former staff members to assistant coaching roles at other institutions. Jabril Durham is headed to Florida International University, Perin Foote will join the University of North Alabama, Ryan Schnider will coach at Eckerd College, and Aiden Frein will take a position at Northwest Florida State College.
Coach Loucks said the moves reflect a blend of institutional knowledge and new perspectives, positioning the Seminoles to remain competitive in the ACC while maintaining a strong developmental pipeline.
