A Season of Change
Mike Norvell arrived in Tallahassee with a promise, and in 2023 he delivered an undefeated regular season that culminated in an ACC championship, earning a contract extension that rewarded the Seminoles' resurgence.
The following two years, however, produced a stark contrast: Florida State slipped to a 7‑17 record, fell to twelfth place among ACC head coaches, and faced mounting criticism from analysts and fans alike.
Rebuilding the Roster
This offseason the program has begun to reshape its identity. New quarterback Ashton Daniels has been added, and the roster has been refreshed through the transfer portal, bringing in playmakers such as Duce Robinson, one of the nation's top receivers. Veteran coach Tavita Pritchard has also joined the staff, bringing experience in developing talent.
The front office has changed hands as well, with John Garrett stepping in as the new general manager, while analyst Andy Staples has emphasized that recruiting consistency will be crucial for the Seminoles' climb back to prominence.
A New Era on the Horizon
Nick Saban, the legendary coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, has long been a benchmark for sustained excellence, and his presence looms over discussions about Florida State's path forward. The university, located in the heart of Florida, hopes that the combination of fresh talent, innovative coaching, and strategic leadership will translate into a competitive 2026 campaign.
