The USA TODAY Florida Network has released its latest Top 100 rankings for the 2027 football recruiting class, unveiling the impact of spring practice on player evaluations.
Eight newcomers break into the list, while the upper echelon sees only a single fresh face, signaling both continuity and emerging talent.
New Faces Shake Up the Rankings
At the very summit, St. Thomas Aquinas’ five‑star offensive tackle Mark Matthews holds the No. 1 spot after pledging to Texas A&M, underscoring his status as the state’s premier prospect.
The top ten also showcases a concentration of wide receivers, with five of the ten positions occupied by pass‑catchers who have already committed to powerhouse programs.
Among those commitments, Nick Lennear of Carol City has chosen the University of Miami, while Eric McFarland III from IMG Academy joins a growing list of top receivers headed to Florida State and Nebraska.
Other notable rankings include James Perrone of St. Thomas Aquinas, who sits at No. 100 and is slated for an official visit to Memphis, and Arwin Jackson of Carol City, ranked No. 99, who continues to attract interest from Auburn and Florida State.
Zaquan Linton from Palm Beach Central occupies the No. 98 slot and has scheduled a visit to NC State, further enriching the state’s deep pool of prospects.
The network has announced that the next iteration of the Top 100 will arrive in August, promising further movement as senior seasons progress.
