Flyers Secure Long‑Term Commitment from Zegras
The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Tuesday that they have reached a four‑year agreement with forward Trevor Zegras, locking the 25‑year‑old into the roster at an average annual value of $9.125 million.
Zegras comes off a season in which he posted a career‑high 26 goals and added 41 assists for 67 points, a performance that helped the club clinch a playoff berth and gave him a prominent role on the power play.
His impact wasn’t limited to the regular season; in the postseason he contributed two goals and four assists, underscoring his ability to elevate his game when the stakes rise.
General manager Danny Briere praised the deal, saying the organization is “excited to see Trevor continue to grow and be a cornerstone of our forward group” as the team looks to build on recent successes.
Zegras’ trajectory has been marked by rapid development since he was drafted ninth overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2019, a pick that followed a standout collegiate career at Boston University where he helped the Terriers capture a national championship.
Internationally, he has represented the United States at multiple tournaments, most recently the 2024 World Championships, where he recorded a goal and an assist in eight games, and he was a key member of the gold‑medal‑winning 2021 World Junior Championship squad.
The contract not only secures a player who has logged 93 goals and 160 assists in 349 NHL appearances, but also signals the Flyers’ intent to retain a talent that has produced 60‑plus point seasons in three of his six professional years.
