Fordham University will bring together former players and fans on Sunday, October 11, for Alumni Day, a celebration that highlights the program's historic 1996 championship.
The 1996 Championship Team
That season, the Rams captured Fordham's first Atlantic 10 title, defeating top‑seeded Rhode Island 2‑1 in the conference final. Jim Grandinetti, who earned MVP honors, posted 17 saves across two tournament matches, backstopping the team to the victory.
The roster also featured All‑Championship selections Todd Vieira, John Wolyniec, Jay Lonergan and Robert Zuclich, each of whom contributed to the historic run.
Reunion and Upcoming Match
This year's festivities will include a match against the University of Rhode Island at Moglia Stadium, followed by a reception held under the stadium bleachers from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The event offers current players a chance to learn from the past while the alumni reflect on a milestone that still resonates through the program.
Looking Forward
As the Rams prepare for the upcoming season, the reunion underscores the enduring connection between past and present, reinforcing Fordham's commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
