A New Era for Fordham Football
The 2026 Fordham Rams reported to Moglia Stadium this week to begin official practice, marking the start of a season that promises significant change. The squad arrives with 40 new faces, including 16 transfers, reshaping the roster ahead of the first-ever Patriot League schedule.
Among the returning leaders, senior quarterback Gunnar Smith and senior wide receiver Nodin Tracy are expected to anchor the offense, while linebacker Andrew Osmun returns as the team's top tackler on defense. Their experience provides a foundation for the newcomers to build upon.
Adding to the overhaul, the program has brought in five new coaches who bring fresh schemes and energy. Their presence is already evident in drills and strategy sessions, as players adapt to new playbooks and training regimens.
The Rams will open the season on August 28 at home against Colgate University, a game that will also serve as a preview of the Patriot League slate that includes matchups with North Dakota State and Coastal Carolina. Villanova University and the College of William & Mary will make their inaugural appearances in the Patriot League this year, joining the Rams in a conference realignment that has generated considerable buzz.
