The Fordham Rams are gearing up for the 2026 football season, with the first showdown scheduled for August 28 against Colgate University at Moglia Stadium. Fans can purchase tickets through the university’s ticket portal, marking the start of a campaign that promises both familiarity and fresh faces on the offensive line.
Returning Experience
Four seniors anchor the line, each having earned significant playing time last year. Dylan Haines started all 12 games at center, while Owen Duetsch contributed five starts at right tackle. Junior Cooper LaFond was the full‑time left tackle, and sophomore Marco DeCroce added four starts as a freshman.
Adding depth, the roster welcomes senior transfer Ryan Blum from Central Michigan and junior Cole Morgan, formerly of Rice, both expected to compete for starting spots. Their arrival brings a mix of experience from different programs.
The coaching staff also brings in several younger players, including freshmen Mason LaFond, Logan Scott and Christian Velardi. Mason LaFond, a Third Team All‑State selection from Paramus Catholic, headlines the incoming class, while sophomores Will Smith, Collin Gerger, Graham Edwards, Leo Rick and Wyatt Scarritt look to build on limited snaps from the previous season.
Injuries sidelined Petar Strbac and Adam Yevchak throughout 2025, creating opportunities for the new additions. With the blend of veteran leadership and promising newcomers, the Rams hope to field a competitive line that can sustain momentum throughout the schedule.
Coach Thomas Cornett expressed confidence that the mix of veteran leadership and fresh talent will give the Rams a strong foundation, and the team is eager to see how the unit performs when the season opens against Colgate.
