Fordham Rams Unveil 2026 Running Back Corps Ahead of Season Opener

Returning veterans and fresh talent blend as the Rams gear up for their August 28 showdown with Colgate at Moglia Stadium.

Fordham University’s football program is buzzing with anticipation as the 2026 roster reveals a surprisingly deep stable of running backs.

Sophomore Yohan‑Li Louis returns after a freshman season that saw him rush for 249 yards on 69 carries and add 154 receiving yards, emerging as a dual‑threat weapon.

Veteran senior Jamell James, who logged 190 yards on 65 attempts and a touchdown last year, is expected to shoulder a larger share of the workload.

The backfield also welcomes back Jacob Rodriguez, who missed most of 2025 due to injury, and Vinny Rugai, who appeared in five games last season.

Adding to the mix, sophomore transfer Will Deady arrives from Marist, where he earned All‑State honors at Ridge High School, while freshmen Taariq Denson and Barrett Fallon bring recent high school accolades.

Denson was a First Team All‑WCAC selection at Bishop McNamara High School, and Fallon captured the 2025 District 14‑4A Division I MVP award at Davenport High School.

A New Era at Moglia Stadium

The Rams will open their season on August 28 against Colgate University at Moglia Stadium, kicking off at 6:00 p.m. The matchup marks the first test for the revamped backfield.

Season and individual game tickets are now on sale through the Fordham Ticket platform, accessible at fordhamsports.com.

Coach Mike MacIntyre and his staff have emphasized depth and versatility, hoping the new combinations will translate into a more dynamic offense.

With a blend of experience and fresh talent, the Rams aim to make an early statement in the competitive Patriot League schedule.
