Former Alabama Star Kool-Aid McKinstry Launches Youth Football Camp in Alabama

The New Orleans Saints defensive back will mentor kids aged 5-15 at Pinson Valley High School on July 11

A Summer of Inspiration

Former Alabama standout and New Orleans Saints defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry is set to host a youth football camp at Pinson Valley High School on July 11, offering youngsters aged five to fifteen a chance to learn the fundamentals of the game while soaking up lessons about confidence and perseverance.

The evening session, scheduled to run from five to eight p.m., will blend drills, scrimmages and mentorship moments, all designed to help participants visualize their own potential and translate it into tangible progress on the field.

From Crimson Tide to the NFL

McKinstry, who earned first‑team All‑America honors during his 2023 season with the Crimson Tide and was selected by the Saints in the 2024 NFL Draft, brings a blend of collegiate pedigree and professional experience to the camp. In his rookie year, he started every game, tallying 76 tackles, five tackles for loss and three interceptions.

Speaking about the event, McKinstry emphasized the importance of belief and discipline, noting that the camp is as much about character development as it is about athletic skill. He hopes to create a supportive environment where each child can see a path toward achieving personal goals.

The initiative is being supported by local partners, including the University of Alabama and the New Orleans Saints organization, underscoring a community‑wide commitment to nurturing the next generation of athletes.
