Former Basketball Coach Charged with Online Sexual Corruption of a Minor

Glenn William Norris, 56, indicted in Clackamas County after an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation

A former youth basketball coach from Junction City, Oregon, has been formally charged after a grand jury returned an indictment in Clackamas County Circuit Court. Glenn William Norris, 56, now faces accusations of online sexual corruption of a child and of luring a minor, allegations that emerged during an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

Norris, who spent more than a decade coaching boys’ basketball at Monroe High School before moving into college and club programs, most recently served as the first‑year girls’ basketball coach at Cascade High School in Turner. His coaching career also included stints as an assistant at Bushnell University and a leadership role with the Albany Elite Basketball organization.

The arrest, which took place on May 27, led to his release on bail and placed him under pre‑trial conditions while the case proceeds. Prosecutors have not yet disclosed the full extent of the evidence, but they have indicated that the investigation remains active and that additional victims may yet be identified.

Law‑Enforcement Appeal

Detectives from the Oregon State Police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. In a public appeal, the agency provided a tip line number and a case reference, emphasizing that even seemingly minor details could assist the inquiry.

The developments underscore the broader effort by law‑enforcement agencies to protect minors from online exploitation, a concern that has intensified in recent years. Community members have expressed shock at the allegations given Norris’s longstanding involvement in local sports programs.
