Henry Burris, a Canadian Football League Hall of Famer and former Florida A&M offensive coordinator, has turned his passion for quarterback development into a venture called A1R Academy, headquartered in Tallahassee.
The academy, which blends on‑field drills with virtual sessions, promises a curriculum that emphasizes both mechanical precision and leadership qualities, catering to signal‑callers at every stage of their careers.
Burris envisions a network that will stretch from the Sunshine State to the broader Canadian market, a plan that aligns with his current focus on family life and a slate of media engagements, including regular guest hosting spots on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s ‘The Opening Drive’.
His extensive résumé reads like a football chronicle: stints as an assistant coach with the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams, a reserve playing tenure with the Bears and Packers, and a recent role as Florida A&M’s assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
A graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media, Burris brings a media‑savvy perspective to his new venture, while his sons Armand and Barron continue to make headlines as emerging football talents.
