Dohnte Meyers, a former Division II wide receiver who starred at Delta State University, has earned a place on the Cincinnati Bengals’ 53‑man roster for the 2026 NFL season.
During his two seasons at Delta State, Meyers recorded 120 receptions for 1,542 yards and 13 touchdowns, guiding the program to the 2022 Division II playoffs before transferring from Presbyterian College.
From Undrafted Tryout to CFL Triumph
After going undrafted in 2023, Meyers attended a Falcons rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, financed his training through DoorDashing deliveries, and later signed a futures contract with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, where he contributed to a Grey Cup championship in 2025.
In January 2026 he inked a deal with the Bengals, and after a seven‑hour nightly commute from Atlanta to Cincinnati, he made the team’s final roster in August, joining stars Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins as a rookie wide receiver.
Meyers’ story underscores the value of perseverance and versatility, as he transitions from a CFL championship pedigree to a role that could see him contribute on special teams and as a depth option in the Bengals’ receiving corps.
