Soccer Knowledge Shared with Rotary
During a recent Thursday morning meeting at the Aquatic Center on East Mill Street, former Kirksville High School soccer players Bless Napo and Elliot Jennings presented a concise overview of the sport’s rules and its rising popularity, linking local participation to the worldwide excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup.
They explained how the game is structured, from basic gameplay to the organizational framework of FIFA, while emphasizing the growing soccer community in Kirksville and its connections to international audiences.
Napo, who works as an agent for Century 21 Lifetime Realty and will continue his athletic career at a Michigan college this fall, also described his role overseeing a 6‑v6 league at The Armory, illustrating how the sport is being organized at the grassroots level.
The Rotary Club, which meets weekly to combine service projects with learning about community and global issues, welcomed the presentation as an example of how local volunteers can bridge sport, education, and service. Club members are invited to attend future sessions, and anyone interested in learning more about Rotary International is encouraged to join.
