A former Janesville teacher, Adam Teal, now faces a felony charge of bail jumping after police say he entered a children's locker room at a local hockey rink during a youth tournament.
The incident came to light when an officer responded to concerns about a man loitering near the locker area, discovering Teal inside a room where eight to twelve boys were present.
Teal later acknowledged being in the locker room at the time, prompting immediate alarm among parents, tournament organizers, and law enforcement officials.
This is not the first time Teal has been entangled in legal trouble. In October 2025 he was arrested on ten counts of child pornography possession and initially held on a $100,000 bond.
Conditions of his release required him to avoid any contact with minors and to stay away from the Woodman’s Convention Center, and he was barred from using any internet‑connected devices.
Court Proceedings and Restrictions
On Tuesday, Teal appeared in Rock County court, where a judge set his bail for the new bail‑jumping charge at $25,000, reiterating the same strict restrictions.
If he posts bail, he will remain under court supervision, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 22 and a calendar call in the child pornography case set for July 27.
The case underscores ongoing concerns about the monitoring of individuals with prior offenses involving child exploitation, especially in community settings such as youth sports.
