A Homecoming for the Tigers
Avery Johnson, Will Anciaux and Wesley Fair, all entering their fourth year on the Kansas State football roster, traveled back to the elementary schools they once attended in Wichita. The trio spent time in classrooms, signed autographs for eager youngsters and joined recess games, turning the familiar hallways into a celebration of shared history.
The visit extended to Wesley Children’s Hospital, where the players met patients, offered words of encouragement and exchanged high‑fives. Hospital staff noted the palpable excitement, and the athletes said the experience reminded them of the support they once received from their own families.
Looking Ahead to the Season
With new head coach Collin Klein taking the reins, the three seniors expect increased playing time and a larger role in the offense. They spoke about the preparation underway for the season opener on September 5 against Nicholls, emphasizing that the community’s enthusiasm fuels their drive.
Having known each other since childhood, the players highlighted the importance of giving back to the city that shaped them. Their return not only reinforces personal ties but also serves as an inspiration for the next generation of local athletes.
