Wan’Dale Robinson, a Kentucky native who spent three seasons as a wide receiver with the New York Giants, has taken a new path this offseason, moving to the Tennessee Titans. The transition has given him a chance to reconnect with the state that shaped his early football years.
A Camp Close to Home
Back in Lexington, Robinson organized a youth football Pro Camp at Tates Creek, drawing roughly 150 children eager to learn the fundamentals of the game. The camp’s stations rotated players through drills that emphasized technique, teamwork and the basics of offensive and defensive play.
Robinson said the experience reminded him why he left the field as a kid, and he stressed the importance of giving back to the community that supported him. ‘Seeing so many kids recognize me and ask questions is a humbling reminder of the responsibility we have as role models,’ he noted.
The turnout exceeded his expectations; many participants already knew his name and career highlights, a testament to his visibility in Kentucky sports circles. ‘I was surprised by how many faces were familiar with my story,’ Robinson admitted.
A New Era for Kentucky Football
Excited about the upcoming season, Robinson voiced his enthusiasm for the new coaching direction under Will Stein, the head coach steering the Wildcats’ program. ‘The Will Stein era brings a fresh energy, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds on the field,’ he said.
Beyond the camp, Robinson plans to be in the stands when Kentucky opens its season against Youngstown State, using the game as another opportunity to connect with fans and showcase the talent emerging from the state.
