Former Mobile-area football standout Flip Rudolph recently hosted the first edition of the Chosen Ones Camp at Peters Park in Alabama, drawing a crowd of youngsters eager for more than just a game.
A Camp Built on Community and Faith
The three‑day session combined free football drills with lessons on self‑belief, encouraging participants to trust in their abilities and in a higher purpose. Organizers also provided complimentary haircuts and meals, turning the park into a hub of holistic support.
Rudolph, who played at Cottage Hill Christian Academy before moving on to UAB and Jacksonville State, said the event was his way of giving back to the neighborhood that helped shape his own career. He added that he wanted to create a space where kids could learn the fundamentals of the sport while also building confidence that extends beyond the field.
The positive response has sparked talk of a second camp next year, with Rudolph inviting anyone who missed the inaugural session to join the effort. Community leaders hope the model will inspire similar programs across the region.
