A Grassroots Initiative Takes Shape
Brody Grebe, a former Montana State football player, has taken the initiative to organize the first edition of the MT 41 Football camps in several eastern Montana communities, offering local youth a chance to learn the game while receiving mentorship from experienced former teammates.
The camps have been staged in Miles City, Sidney, Glendive and Medicine Lake, bringing together a core group that includes Hunter Sharbono, Paul Brott, Bryce Grebe, Mason Dethman and Ben Glasscock, each contributing their own insights and coaching styles.
Grebe has emphasized that the smaller, community‑focused settings allow for a low player‑to‑coach ratio, creating an environment where personal development and skill refinement can flourish more effectively than in larger, more impersonal programs.
Mason Dethman, reflecting on the experience, expressed a strong desire to replicate that model in his own hometown, aiming to give back to the community that supported his own growth on the field.
Now residing in Williston, North Dakota, with his wife MacKenzie and their dog Birdie, Grebe acknowledges that the bonds formed with his former teammates and the daily rhythm of football are aspects he misses most since stepping away from the collegiate game.
Adding a personal touch, his younger brother Bryce, a current Bobcat football player, occasionally shows off a championship ring, a subtle reminder of family competition and pride.
Looking ahead, Brody Grebe hopes to expand the MT 41 Football camps throughout the state, seeking to broaden the reach of mentorship and community engagement for the next generation of players.
