Former NBA forward Dale Brown is once again opening the doors of his annual basketball camp in Jackson County, Mississippi, inviting children between the ages of six and seventeen to sharpen their game under the guidance of seasoned players.
Now in its nineteenth year, the camp blends skill development with life lessons, offering a structured environment where first‑time attendees and returning campers alike can refine their dribbling, shooting and teamwork.
A Camp With a Legacy
Hunter Frierson, a seventh‑grader, has spent every summer since he was six at the camp, watching his ball‑handling and shooting percentages climb as he absorbs the expertise of Brown and other former professionals.
Brown, who starred at Pascagoula High School before moving on to the Kentucky Wildcats and later the Sacramento Kings, says the experience is as much about giving back to the community as it is about basketball.
The program runs through Sunday, June 28, and continues to draw families from across the region, who appreciate the blend of athletic instruction and mentorship that Brown brings to the court.
