A New Chapter for Husker Alumni
The 2026 NBA Summer League will light up the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas from July 9 through July 19, featuring a compact slate of five games that culminate in a championship matchup on the 19th.
Four former Nebraska Huskers are set to make their professional marks in the league, each slated to wear a different NBA jersey. Josiah Allick will suit up for the Charlotte Hornets, Sam Hoiberg for the Phoenix Suns, Rienk Mast for the Indiana Pacers, and Brice Williams will return to the Detroit Pistons.
Allick, who helped the Huskers capture their first College Basketball Crown last season, arrives after a stint with the Greensboro Swarm, the G League affiliate of the Hornets, where he contributed to a title‑winning campaign. Hoiberg, a standout under his father Fred Hoiberg at Nebraska, earned record‑breaking honors before heading to Phoenix, where he hopes to translate collegiate success into NBA minutes.
Mast, a decorated Husker who navigated the 2023‑24 and 2025‑26 seasons in Lincoln, will join the Indiana Pacers, while Williams, who previously played for the Motor City Cruise, the G League farm team of the Pistons, looks to build on his summer‑league experience from a year ago.
The league’s condensed schedule promises intense competition, with each team facing off in a series of showcase games before the final showdown on July 19, where the champion will be crowned.
