Harris, who spent parts of nine NFL seasons from 2007 to 2016, cited a desire to complete his final semester of law school at the University of Colorado as the primary reason for leaving the booth. He credited former Notre Dame All‑American and Pro Football Hall of Famer Alan Page with inspiring his pursuit of a legal career.
Beyond campus, Harris has contributed to Broncos preseason broadcasts and has lent his voice to CBS Sports and Westwood One NFL Radio, bringing a player‑turned‑analyst perspective to national audiences. He described his tenure as an "incredible and life‑changing experience" and said the move opens doors to further opportunities in the NFL and television.
A Lineage of Voices
The transition follows a storied lineage of analysts at Notre Dame; Allen Pinkett held the position from 2001 to 2017, and Tom Pagna worked alongside play‑by‑play man Tony Roberts for sixteen years before stepping aside. Notre Dame has employed only two other full‑time radio analysts over the past four decades.
