A 61‑year‑old man was arrested during a Texas A&M football game after police discovered he was secretly recording a woman without her consent.
Officers from Bryan observed Manuel Ramirez using his phone to film the woman while she stood on an elevated ramp near Section 338 of Kyle Field, the stadium’s main seating area.
Ramirez faced a charge of invasive visual recording, classified as a state jail felony in Texas, and was subsequently booked into the Brazos County Jail.
Texas A&M University Police seized his phone as evidence and assumed control of the investigation, confirming that the victim was notified and chose to press charges.
Although Ramirez was not a Texas A&M employee but worked for SSC Services for Education, the university’s police action led to the immediate termination of his employment. SSC Services issued a statement condemning the behavior, emphasizing its commitment to safety and consent.
Legal and Employment Fallout
The incident highlights the heightened scrutiny of conduct at large public events, where the presence of thousands of spectators creates opportunities for inappropriate behavior. University officials stressed that such actions violate both legal standards and the institution’s core values.
