Among the newcomers is guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie, the 42nd overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, who arrives after a breakout season in which he averaged 18.4 points, 5.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game and earned All‑SEC honors.
Also on the roster is point guard Zakai Zeigler, a four‑year Volunteer who holds program records for steals and assists and spent his rookie year with Nanterre 92 in France before signing with San Antonio.
Rounding out the group is forward Igor Milicic, the Croatian big man who posted 9.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in his lone season at Tennessee and was part of the Elite Eight run that culminated in a victory over Virginia.
The Spurs open their Summer League schedule on July 3 against the Miami Heat, a matchup that will test the newcomers against a defensively disciplined opponent.
Beyond individual storylines, the Summer League serves as a crucible where prospects can test their abilities in high‑intensity settings, often using the experience to cement a place on an NBA roster.
